Diane James, french horn
Diane James received her Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Toronto, studying under Eugene Rittich. Following graduation, Diane was a awarded a long-term Canada Council grant to study horn privately in Los Angeles, with Norwegian horn soloist, Froydis Ree Wekre. She has also studied with Swedish horn player, Ib Lanzky-Otto.
Diane has been a member of the Canadian Chamber Orchestra at Banff, and the National Youth Orchestra. She has played in numerous Canadian orchestras and chamber groups including CJRT Radio Orchestra, Toronto Chamber Winds, Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, Halifax Symphony Orchestra, Kitchener Symphony, St Catharine’s Symphony, and Brampton Symphony.
In addition to freelance performing, Diane teaches an Orff music program for infants to 12 year olds at Bannockburn School in North York. She also teaches preschool music, music theatre classes and private lessons at Toronto Faculty of Music in Etobicoke.
