History

What do you get when you combine a bunch of brass musicians with a church, some sheet music, a few dark secrets, and a local pub? You get a Brass Conspiracy.

The Brass Conspiracy is a community brass choir founded in 2006 by tubist Daniel Manley.  The mission of the group is to provide non-professional and semi-professional brass players in the Toronto area with an opportunity to perform challenging and engaging repertoire in a chamber environment.  The repertoire of the ensemble encompasses diverse genres of music from pop and funk to renaissance madrigals.  Brass Conspiracy has appeared onstage with the Bel Arte Singers, Voices Choir and the Scarborough Concert Band.   Included in the mandate of the ensemble is a commitment to community involvement and music education.  Brass Conspiracy has performed at community events such as Nuit Blanche, the grand re-opening of the 519 Community Centre, and the Toronto AIDS Vigil.   The group also performs at area schools in York Region and Toronto providing workshops and performances for aspiring young brass players.
